Permaculture Design and Sustainable Community at Lama Foundation - Certificate Course
Participants live and learn at the legendary intentional community that defines itself as “educational center dedicated to all spiritual paths”. It is one of the oldest intentional communities in the US and it offers its unique wisdom and experience as well as striking setting to the learners of all walks of life. Lama features a series of small organic gardens, numerous natural building projects for housing its members, gray and black water cleansing systems as well as a great library and meditation spaces. There is optional daily yoga practice open to permaculture students. This class is particularly recommended for anyone interested in community and permaculture.

COURSE LOGISTICS:
This course is offered at Lama Foundation, situated 20 miles north of Taos, NM on just under 110 acres at 8600 feet. Founded in 1967, Lama Foundation is one of the oldest Intentional Communities in America. Participants are able to observe community life, and can join daily yoga and meditation routine. The Lama community offers a tranquil and spiritual respite while immersing yourself in permaculture.
The community has been working to make connections with its mountain neighbors to increase sustainability in their high altitude home. For folks interested in structured community living, Lama is one of the oldest intentional communities in the country providing a wonderful thread of history and insights into group processes that keep it in motion.
Permaculture classes are held 9:00am to 5:00pm every day, with the second Sunday of the class as a day off. Please expect reading and homework assignments. Lama Foundation provides wholesome vegetarian meals prepared and served in Lama’s lovely community kitchen.

REGISTRATION/PAYMENT: Course non-refundable deposit of $300 secures your space in the class. Full payment is due one month before class starts. Please submit your Essay at the time of registration.
